The last ride of last season did not go well. I accelerated from a stop into first and then into second gear. I had to slow down for something and when I tried to down shift from second to first the lever would not budge. I had to come to a full stop before I could get it into first. Is been doing it ever since. It doesn't appear to be a clutch issue. But, before I pull the inner timing cover off I'm hoping someone might have an idea. What am I missing?

What BSA do you have?
90 percent of the time it is a clutch issue
Most of the time most all vintage bikes have to have the engine and the wheels tunring ( at the same time) to find all the gears.
