Mel,
In some ways I am glad that this is not a DBD34. If it were, I would feel the need to restore it rather than just ride it.
The dbd34 that I bought around 1975 was a well used competition bike. I knew next to nothing about Goldstars at the time. Did not realize that there should have been a compression relief or adjustable
magneto timing. Starting that bike at full advance was an adventure.
I did ride it one lap of a motocross course with no other riders present. Your comment about the weight of the bike for that kind of use is spot on. It did make a great road bike though.
When I was offered a like new 1972 Norton Commando as a straight up trade it was a deal that I could not refuse.
Doug

That was a great story Mel! I still remember seeing you ride a Jawa twin down at the Toronto, Ohio BSA Vintage Trials many years ago. Still don't know how you managed to ride it through the sections, let alone just make it around the loop. That was impressive.
