Hello Everyone,
I am new to the group and I am new to restoring British bikes. I own a '79 Bonneville T140E and have recently bought a '44 WD M20. When I return home (family is stationed overseas with the U.S. Army), I am looking forward to getting to work on the M20. It is currently on loan to a local museum in my father's home town, so it has a clean safe place to stay until I return. The bike is crusty, just as I found it, but it is complete. The motor is not locked, and the previous owner stated it was running when he stopped riding about 20 years ago. Should I completely restore it? Some people say yes, others say get it running and safe, and leave it alone. Any advice will surely be appreciated. Thank you Bryan |

Thank you very much for posting, Bryan, and welcome!
Awesome bikes you've got there. Very much look forward to hearing more from you, especially regarding progress on the M20. Be sure to check out the OVBSAOC on Facebook, too! www.facebook.com/ohiovalleybsaownersclub?ref=hl |
Yes, the Avatar image is an actual picture of me - back when I was younger and handsomer.

Looks like you missing a saddle bag. I think you can get those "re-popped" (aka reproduction) plus a lot of other parts for that model. If it was my bike, I would just clean it up and get it running and then you could enjoy more than if it was a pristeen restoration. Nice looking Triumph you got there.
