Grand Marshal at the June even was none of than Jack Penton! Here, he addresses the riders meeting, along with event founder, Clark Francy. The Reliability Run is set up to be ridden an enjoyed all bikes, from vintage to modern, serious Enduros to Adventure Bikes. And there they go. Check out these great vintage bikes getting underway. Texan John Edwards came all the way from Houston to ride the event, on his pristine Suzuki RMX. Jack Penton waits for his number to come up. Check out the personalized number plate on Jack's bike. This gorgeous BSA took part. And Hodakas - the OVBSAOC loves Hodakas! The Reliability Run is all about "Run What You Brung"! |

Here's another shot of that Matchless, along with a gorgeous 441 Victor. Adventure bikes. Bring 'em on! Dig the WR rider's vintage Amoco jacket. Is that cool, or what? OVBSAOC Board Member Steve Szewczyk advises, "Yes, we WILL be going up there!" Many, many time Reliability Run participant gave this ISDT-replica BWM a break this opting instead for a very nice old DR350 Suzuki. Less than 1/4 miles from the start, while the GREEN took riders down the road, the RED rider headed right into the creek. Check the beaver dam. Yeah, it was a little deep. Another splash through Island Creek, still just a half-mile from the start. |

If you're going to ride the RED sections of the Reliability Run, you'd better like water crossings. We've got a bunch of them! Some guys really get into it. No, you can't keep your feet dry. If you're going to get wet anyway, might as well have some fun! The first trail loop, right on the campground property, does include some pretty challenging terrain. I made it! Three miles down and only 97 to go! Is it tough? Well, the trials guys go up there . . . Our young friend, Eric Choffin, rode the whole thing, including all the RED sections, on a vintage TC185 Suzuki. Stone stock original, right down to the turn signals. Only modification - a knobby on the back. Way to go, Eric! |
