This could be the start of the end of the line for our BSA's. Look at what they did to Enfield. Enfield is now a joke. No twins just 40mph singles. I see them making a cheep versions of the 441's and some try at a cheep Gold Star.. Really bumbed.

I too have reservations about this recent news. Trying to think positive, however. Given modern-Triumph's success with updated, classic-styled models, as well as fresh designs, possibly the new BSA-marque owners will begin with clean sheet of paper and build "world-market" machines. Maybe?

From what I've read recently, it is very likely we'll see a new Enfield twin coming down the road sooner than later. And Mahindra is a big company. I wouldn't expect to see any half-efforts from them either. There is a lot of activity in the India market these days.

Enfield's history goes back to the original company in England. India Enfield has been around since 1955. They've done little until recently except make copies of the original Bullet, a motorcycle that was well suited to India. They're owned by the Eicher Group.
Mahindra , who bought the BSA name, is a whole different company. They'll be going at this with a much more modern approach. Hopefully they'll do justice to the BSA name. To me however, they'll be a new, modern company with no direct ties to the original. No concern of mine. I'm into vintage motorcycles.
