I booked my Toyota Camry for film next week, and the night before I realised I have no idea what they will actually do to my car in those two days. I do not want to hand over the keys and just hope for the best. So I went looking for the Professional PPF installation process in Abu Dhabi, step by step, and what I understood is that the car is washed first, then the paint is cleaned and checked, then the film is cut to shape and fitted panel by panel, and at the end the edges are tucked and the whole car is looked over. That helped a little, but I still have questions for people who have been through it. Is it true the paint is clay barred or polished before the film goes on, and do they charge extra for that? Does the film get cut by a machine from a digital pattern, or by hand on the car? I heard hand cutting on the paint can leave tiny marks, so is that a real worry? Where do they do the work? I read that a closed, clean room matters because dust under the film leaves little bumps. Should I ask to see the room before I pay? Also, how long does the film need to dry, and when can I wash the car again? Another thing is the follow up. Do shops ask you to come back after a week to check the edges? If you watched your own job being done, please tell me what the shop did well, what you wish you had checked, and what you paid. Easy answers help me most.
