Hi folks, I've been a member for several years but have never made the trek from MD for an event. I look forward to the info exchange on this forum. And thanks to those that manage this website.

Hello, Greg! Thank you so much for being a member, and for chosing to participate on the site. We really appreciate it.

We would love to hear more about you. What kind of bikes do you have and/or are riding? What is your history/experience with BSA's?

I very much encourage you to attend the OVBSAOC Rallies. Great, laid-back events, with lots to do and really, really nice people in attendance. Hope to see you this year!

Looks like you've got a good start and the right attitude, Shorster. You may consider posting a "wanted" ad in the For Sale Forum section for the parts you need. They're out there! Good luck!

Evening shorster,
I'd have to ask what diameter the hardley stem is? Is it 1 inch?

If so, I'm sure you would rather utilize a roller bearing?

Timken # 1730 cup, and a # 1780 cone should get you there. It will be taller than the stock balls and races, but since the hardley's goose neck and stem are longer anyways, that shouldn't be a problem, as you will have to bring the tree closer to the crown. You will have to fuss with the extra length of the hardley stem in the shorter BSA goose neck.

And, you won't have to worry about the step in the legs, unlike a BSA's legs... Right?

If you wish to use any kind of a dust shield, I believe you will have to make some up, or find some that will fit the taller distance...

So that you do not bash the front of your gas tank, I hope you can fabricate a suitable fork stop.....
