hey folks, i'm new.

just bought an old thunderbolt at a farm equipment dealer here in ohio. i drive past his place four times a day for my job, and one day this appeared out by the road:

couldn't figure it out at first, but it turns out it's a 66 cyclone frame, 64-66 tbolt tinware, and a 72 tbolt motor with (i'm told) 71 covers. absolutely no historical authenticity, but it starts first kick and scoots down the road with wonderful noise, if not wonderful speed. it seems to have all the old thunderbolt parts, even the chainguard. all it's missing is a horn, but i've got a couple of those in my junk box. a kill switch would be nice, too, but that's easy.

and it still has points. aluminum paint on the mufflers. we used to call that "mexican chrome" in the old unreconstructed days.

this will be a daily rider, rather than a beautify project.

pleased to meet you.

Hey Kevin,

That's a great "side of the road" find!

Like that color too.
