Hi Smitty

I too have a BSA in boxes. The way i've gone at it is crazy. They run from a A50 cases about 66 to 1970 A65. I know better but i need a toy. I am using this build as a project to keep my mind active and not on my cancer. I think the way you set up this bike would work in my case as well. What forks did you use? I would use BSA but everyone wants too much for them. I bought a frame from ebay just to find it cracked by the kick stand, just have to smile and weld it up. Vintage twins in Arvada Co said he would do the machine work. That is where i will start I am very happy to have a BSA again!

sorry for the delay in responding but I do this motorcycle thing almost 24/7 so I may miss a thing or 2,the forks on my 650 are a bit of a hybrid, the trees are 1st gen Honda CR250 which if I remember correctly require no mods other then the making of a steering stop mounted to the front of the steering stem, fork tubes are XL250 Honda parts, lower legs are 2 left side Yamaha XS650s which gives you clamps left and right for the axle,I made sleeves to size the bsa axle to these lower from a piece of old handle bar 7/8" OD,I plan on tearing this bike down this winter for an engine rebuild and chassis freshing up
mine has been missing the side stand since I got it,centerstand is great
FIGHT THAT CANCER,you can win!
let me know if you need any help,I'll do what I can
if this was easy, everyone would do it

That's a nice looking ride. Those wheels look real good. Look like Excel flanged alloy rims that Buchanan sells.

yup,got them thru the dealer where I work just after I started, set up the dealer account ;)
built them myself and had a local guy true them for my,did it one handed due to a broken arm from a racing accident, went to install the front one on the bike and it was 1/2" off center so I grabbed a seat and spoke wrench and self taught myself to retrue it when I asked him about it he had been doing a bunch of Harley wheels which have a "dish " offset to them I guess and he did them same to mine, did not bitch he did em for free so....
if this was easy, everyone would do it

updates on the up dates, tanks has been reshaped and painted needs final finishing paint by "da Spraybomb"
On the frame, sheet metal cover removed at the steering head that reveled some ugly work by the brits(no wonder they covered it up),I reworked that area to the shown results, almost have the chassis back to roller then the engine starts going back together, need to get the cylinders bored for the new .040 hepolite piston assemblies
if this was easy, everyone would do it
