I am trying to figure out a realistic maintenance schedule for my Audi because I plan to keep it for a long time and I do not want to neglect something important. The owner's manual is not much help, it just says the fluid is filled for life which I now understand is more of a marketing thing than actual advice. So for those of you who have been driving Audis for years, what is your actual approach? Do you change the fluid at a set interval, like every sixty thousand kilometres, or do you just wait until you notice symptoms? I have heard some people say every forty thousand if you drive in heavy traffic and extreme heat, which describes my daily commute perfectly. Others say every eighty thousand is fine. I am not made of money so I do not want to do unnecessary maintenance, but I also do not want to be penny wise and pound foolish and end up with a failed gearbox. My car is a 2018 Q5 with the S tronic if that makes a difference. Does the type of transmission change the recommended interval? I imagine a dual clutch might have different needs than a traditional automatic click here auditransmissionrepair.ae/audi-transmission-fluid. Also, is it true that the filter should be changed at the same time as the fluid? I have seen some kits that include both and others that are just fluid. And what about the pan gasket, does that need replacing too? I am asking because I want to know what to expect when I take it in, so I do not get upsold on things I do not need. If you have a schedule that has worked for you over many years and high mileage, I would love to hear it. Thanks for any practical advice.
